For this week, I’d like to showcase this image of a sculpture uploaded by Starry Diadem on Flickr. I started looking into sculptures that have been overgrown as I was doing my research. I really love the framing and the angle this photo was taken in; it really highlights the beauty of both the statue and the growing nature! (This is a blog post for my art class at Texas State University!)

We humans often build roads and bridges, canals and ports, even entire cities at the expense of the environment. But nature isn't planning on giving up. On the contrary, it is determined to persevere, showing just how fragile our creations are.
