Today is Marbling Fabric Day... I am using the Jacquard Marbling Kit There is lots of prep work to marble fabric: You need to wash and dry your fabric. You need to cut your fabric to fit the pan. One class is in fabric marbling, and the other 3 are marbling combined with an applied project. Big thanks to Jill Deiss who has invited me to offer workshops at her beautiful studio in the woods.  I’ve been studying the techniques of marbling for 12 years. I love delving into the methods and materials, but I’m also intriqued by the evolution of this artform through its historical background within many cultures. The most noteable contributions come from Turkey which refer to these methods as “Ebru” in their language.
