Julekake is a sweet Christmas bread spiced with cardamom and studded with raisins and candied citrus. Julekake is popular in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark and can also be called julekaka, julekage, or julebrød. While normally spiced with cardamom, you can sometimes find it with cinnamon or nutmeg too.

Makes 1 (9x5-inch) loaf

Cardamom and lots of fruit enliven this unique holiday bread. The recipe was handed down from my grandmother, who came to the United States from Denmark when she was 16 years old.
