Where would you start if you were looking for a treasure? Well, from what we learned in Jumanji, we probably need a map. In fact, maps, the precious representation of information, are key to so many secrets of the world, whether it’s the Earth, our history, politics, sociology, or anything, really.

Admit it, once Google Earth was rolled out, you absolutely took a disproportionate amount of time checking out all the localities and areas on it to see if you can find something nostalgic, cool, or flat-out bizarre. And then Google Street View appeared and it was a game changer. Needless to say, you like maps. We’re all nerds like that.

For every Internet commenter who enters online arguments about the USA with facts they got from their butt, there's a map that presents hard data bare and allows the viewers to make their own interpretations.

Questions these maps answer: Which state had the least people on Ashley Madison? How do you say "bro" in Latin America? And where can 5-year-olds drink?

Since I had some spare time, and I wanted to teach myself about different cultures around the world, I created this little map to show all the subregions of the world where different cultures are practiced.

The map might not be the territory, but gosh darn it both aren't fascinating to look at! We’re pretty big fans of maps and we can’t wait to set our eyes on even more unusual and peculiar ones in order to expand our minds and feed our imaginations which are hungry for aesthetic designs. Luckily for us, there are tons of like-minded internet users who are nearly bursting with their love of maps.

Who doesn't love a good map? I'd even say we'd get lost without one. They enrich our understanding of the world in a simple, visual way.
