A turquoise and copper card using a woodgrain background, feathers and a bit of flourish. This card was actually made last December for a card exchange in a local stamping group I belong to, but I'm just now getting around to posting it. It has sort of a Southwest flavor to it with the copper and turquoise color scheme. More details on how I made the card are here.

I've been wanting to try Kylie's watercolor technique and finally took the plunge. I used a small almost square acrylic block and inked it with Pool Party right from the inkpad, spritzed with water and pressed onto some watercolor paper. I spritzed the paper some more and dried. Did the same thing with Crumb Cake ink. Stamped and die cut some feathers to "hang" over the colored block. Two of the feathers were stamped with Crumb Cake ink on Whisper White Scraps. Today I'm sharing some emboss resist cards we made a few weeks ago. We used SU's set Fine Feathers. First we masked off the card, then embossed some feathers with white embossing powder. Then we sponged with Marina Mist and Baja Breeze, and came back with some feathers in baked brown sugar. This was so fun, we also did some cards with ferns, I'll be posting those another time!

I recently watched a live class with Gina K. You can see the recording here. It was my first time watching her live and I really enjoyed her class. I have been in a birthday card slump but after watching her class, I had a few ideas! She used Stamp and Die set Fancy Feathers to create a card so I tried how she did it first. My colors I used was Distress Ink colors cracked pistachio, twisted citron and mermaid lagoon. The white, blue and green cardstock is just some I had in my scrap pile…

A little mix of old and new for you today! Four Feathers is a sweet set that is retiring soon. I introduced it to two of Stampin' Up's new in colors and wow do they get along great! Tip Top Taupe is so smart and classy and it looks wonderful with a splash of Delightful Dijon! I used the splatter from Gorgeous Grunge and a sentiment from Sheltering Tree to complete my card. Depending on which way you are hopping you can head back to Nancy Smith's blog or forward to Mike Funke's. No matter…
