The Higher Self is a concept that is often used in new age spirituality communities. Most people don't fully understand what this means. It is often assumed that the Higher Self is something that is outside of a person. I hear people talk about it as if it is like another Spirit, that lives externally from the body. And, while many believe we are connected to our Higher Self, I've heard far too many teachers teach about it as if it's something that's not actually a part of you.
