Tony Jacklin Finishes Off the 1970 U.S. Open, Chaska, MN On June 21, 1970, Tony Jacklin wrapped up an easy victory at the U.S. Open at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska, MN. Jacklin shot a seven-under-par 281, finishing seven strokes ahead of his nearest competitor, Dave Hill. With his victory, Jacklin became the first Englishman to win the U.S. Open in half a century.
