Visiting Changdeokgung Palace and its Secret Garden is one of the top things to do in Seoul. Located near Gyeongbokgung Palace, it is part of the three palaces.

While Gyeongbokgung is considered Korea's main palace, Changdeokgung and its secret garden actually served as the primary royal residence from the early 1600s - 1800s. I've been twice now, once in late spring and recently mid-autumn, and it's definitely one of those places in Seoul I'll never tire of visiting. It's a UNESCO World Heritage...

Gyeongbokgung Palace 경복궁

Changdeokgung Palace is the 2nd oldest of the 5 jeseon palaces and the only palace listed in the UNESCO Heritage sites. It is because of its old surviving structure and the designing which is in harmony with the surrounding of the palace. It was second royal villa and royal seat for 300 years. Changdeokgung Palace has got its own secret garden 'Huwon' which is again in flow with the surrounding and covers the sixty percent of the palace area. Huwon has milimalistic landscaping.
