Following on from 'selenophile' last week, we have another word to do with the night skies. An astrophile is a lover of the stars; a person who is interested in astronomy as an amateur or hobbyist. ✨ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It's derived from the Greek 'astro', meaning stars, and -phile, denoting a love or fondness for. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Oscar Wilde springs to mind; "We're all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars." 🌟 ⠀⠀
