Dawn Reid Brean, associate curator of decorative arts at The Frick Pittsburgh, discusses Isabelle de Borchgrave's interpretation of 18th century fashions.

The diminutive engageantes are in keeping with 1780s fashion. The over-skirt has border flounces secured with adjustable gold ropes. Beneath is an under-skirt with swags of fur and beneath that is a pink petticoat.
