Bladesmith, Dave Stephens, Multi-bar Seax. Copper fittings. Carved ebony handle. Top layer has four bars of low layer, two twisted and two straight. Bottom layer is composed of four bars of high layer crushed W's. This was a common blade carried by ancient Vikings.
This viking seax knife was made from a pattern welded steel billet .It was then heated and hardened in oil and tempered and quenched in water,the bolster is bronze the handle is mahogany ,pommel is bronze and copper. The sheath was expertly made by Woodlander Leather.
