Melissa from New York asked us for a tattoo for her whole family to get together. While discussing colors, Gabriel explained why he liked blue so much: "The blues are mainly a quite abstract idea: tchelet is a color mentioned in the bible as "God's color". The exact tone of tchelet got lost. But traditionally, it's considered to have been a light blue. I like that idea. I like historical connections. I like to make sure my art is part of a continuity and stands on the shoulders of giants."
Kathi wrote: "My wife and I are renewing our vows in celebration of our 20th anniversary". She didn't mind the fact that "i am my beloved and my beloved is mine" was gender specific and committed to this heart as she was committed to her wife [is that too cheesy, man? I love it, but you're managing sm. It's your call, eh?]

One of the best parts of creating #calligraphy #tattoodesigns is that we meet the most amazing people. Stacy and Gillee are two of the biggest-hearted people we are pleased to called clients. Seeing their names in the inbox is good for the soul. We celebrate their love for each other, their family, and even a gift #customtattoo design for an employee. It's a gift that lasts a lifetime!
The evolution of a design can be seen with this #Chai and #FamilyNamesTattooDesign for our client Murray, who wanted to have his family names depicted in color. What do you think? Classic #holy blue ink for #Judaism? Or #MulticolorInk? #Tattoo placement comes tomorrow!
For this Hamsa with her children's names, our client B spent time with Gabriel on the phone and over email working out the details. As she is a small women at 5'1" and 102 lbs. it was important that the design be light and not take up too much room on her shoulder blade.
For her first tattoo, our client A. had some things to commemorate: a 50th birthday, a women's trip to Israel, and becoming an "empty nester"...all good reasons to GO FORTH. We see the beauty in all of these wonderful milestones and think Gabriel did an amazing job of capturing the feelings in a touchstone. What do you think?
Isaiah 54 is a quote with some controversy attached; does it actually refer to the restoration of Zion? Or offer comfort to infertile women? Or is it as many believe, a covenant of peace given to various assurances of God’s love for Israel and of safety from various possible threats; the phrase sums up both the positive aspects of shalom, which implies a fullness of blessing and protection from all that might harm.
Dov says: "I believe that Israel is a land for both Muslims and Jews. I used to live in Tel Aviv and in the dorms I lived with several Israeli Arabs that I became very close with. I think that Jews and Arabs have many more similarities than we do differences I think coexistence and cohabitation is the only future that is sustainable." We couldn't agree more so we created this piece combining the Hebrew and the Arab word for coexistence. #hebrew #hebrewtattoo #hebrew_tattoos #hebrewcalligraphy #b
