FollowersSpangolite
Hilarion Mines, Lavrion, Attica, Greece - Beautiful, well formed spangolite crystals on matrix. Very rich specimen! Named after Norman Spang [1842 Etna, Pennsylvania, USA - Decemeber, 1922 Paris, France], iron manufacturer and mineral collector of Etna, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, USA, contributor of the type specimen for study.
Chalcanthite
Crystals are easily grown synthetically from copper sulfate solutions. This can be done by dissolving a readily available chemical salt called copper sulfate, and then letting the water evaporate. This leaves behind a crystallized mass of Chalcanthite which can crystallize beautifully if grown properly.
