Mictlantecuhtli, "Lord of the underworld", from tecuh-tli "sir" and Mictlan "place of the Dead", is the Aztec, Zapotec and Mixtec God of the underworld and the dead of the ancient México.

El Templo Mayor fue uno de los templos principales de los aztecas en el capital ciudad de Tenochtitlán, que ahora es la ciudad de México. Fue construido en el centro de la ciudad donde las rituales más importante pasan.  El templo se llama el huey  teocalli, fue dedicado a dos dioses. Huitzilopochtli, el dios de guerra, y Tialoc, el dios de llueve y agricultura, y  ambos tenían un estatuario en la cima de la pirámide. Los pirámides representado dos montañas sagradas.
