Rolex set the standard in dive watches during the 1950s. With James Bond, and great marketing, managed to push their prices beyond actual function. Now, this perfectly functional, practical watch is only a "desk" diver - used to impress fellow office employees. However, modern technology has enabled others to produce homage watches with impressive technical performance and utility at a reasonable price. Why would one expose a vintage, $60,000, Rolex to the swamps, jungles, mountains etc.?
