Marlon Brando, Jr. (April 3, 1924 – July 1, 2004) was an American screen and stage actor. Considered to be one of the most important actors in American cinema. Brando was a mimic from early childhood and developed an ability to absorb the mannerisms of people he played and display them dramatically while staying in character. "There's a line in the picture where he snarls, 'Nobody tells me what to do.' That's exactly how I've felt all my life."

Marlon Brando A Midwestern farm boy, he was raised as a Christian Scientist and sent to military school, where he toed the line and got good grades. Think of this the next time "The Wild One" turns up on cable.

while shooting Mutiny on the Bounty he met and married Tahitian beauty Tarita Teriipia, who by coincidence had played his love interest in the film. Tarita was some 18 years younger than Brando, and she was only 20 when she and Marlon Brando were married. Tarita was Brando’s third wife, and gave birth to two children, Simon and Cheyenne.

For the scene where Clemenza is cooking, Francis Ford Coppola originally wrote in the script, "Clemenza browns some sausage". Upon seeing this, Mario Puzo crossed out "browns" and replaced it with "fries", writing in the margin, "Gangsters don't brown."

"I will not swear on God. I will not swear on God, because I don't believe in the conceptual sense and in this nonsense. What I will swear on is my children and my grandchildren (refusing to recite a religious oath while testifying at his son Christian's trial, 1990)."
