Ann Agnes Bernatitus (January 21, 1912 – March 3, 2003) was a United States Navy nurse who served during World War II. In October 1942, she became the first American recipient of the Legion of Merit (legionnaire) for her heroism during the siege of Bataan and Corregidor from December 1941 through April 1942.

When Corregidor and Bataan fell in there were 11 US Navy nurses and 66 Army nurses who were captured along with the American and Filipino forces, and imprisoned in and around the city of Manila. These 77 women became known as the Angels of.

Este sucedió en Madrid el 28 de Abril de 1699  el Motín de los Gatos o de Oropesa.  en la Plaza Mayor de Madrid una mujer se quejó del precio tan alto del pan, preguntando cómo podría alimentar a su marido y sus hijos las voces se fueron multiplicando y cuentan que en aquel momento el corregidor que pasaba por allí, usando de toda su “diplomacia” le dijo a la mujer que “…mandara castrar a su marido para que no le diese más hijos”, estas delicadas palabras  se produjo el motín.
