CASTLES OF SPAIN - El castillo de San Vicente, en Argüeso, al sur de Cantabria. Con anterioridad al castillo hubo una ermita (S. IX) bajo la advocación de San Vicente, así como una necrópolis medieval de los siglos IX y X. Las dos torres se alzaron durante los siglos XIII y XIV. Pertenecía a la Casa de la Vega, y en el siglo siguiente, por el matrimonio de doña Leonor de la Vega con Diego Hurtado de Mendoza, pasó al señorío de los Mendoza. En 1475 se creó el marquesado de Argüeso.

Tamworth Castle, Tamworth, Staffordshire, England - Overlooking the River Tame, the site has been fortified since Anglo-Saxon times, when Ethelfleda, the Mercian Queen, built a burh to defend against Danes in 913. It served as a residence of the Mercian kings. Rebuilt and enlarged by the Normans, it is today one of the best preserved Norman motte-and-bailey castles in England.
