Louis XV or Louis Quinze furniture and decor is romantic and lavishly decorative. The ornate style is light in spirit and in form with an emphasis on curves and sensuous lines. Ornate carvings include shells and wavy or watery shapes with a frilly look. Flowing scroll shapes and flourishes often look like the letters S and C. Acanthus leaves are also common as well as birds, flowers and fruit, while curvy cabriole legs add to the sensuous flourish of Louis XV furniture.
