Romantic Couples Only Getaway to South Haven, Michigan
Plan a romantic getaway to South Haven by booking a stay at the charming Inn at the Park Bed & Breakfast. My husband & I had a lovely getaway to South Haven, Michigan & couldn’t have picked a more charming place to stay! We’ve never stayed at a bed & breakfast but always wanted to give it a try! The Inn at the Park bed & breakfast looks like a Victorian painted lady but was built in the late 90s specifically as a bed & breakfast so every room is spacious and has its own bathroom. We stayed in the Sycamore room which is on the second floor and comes with it’s own fireplace & spa quality jacuzzi tub. It was a very relaxing retreat for us to return to after being out exploring South Haven! After checking in, we were given a tour of the main floor which included a dry bar containing
Michigan Island Hopping: Eaton Rapids
Have you been to Michigan’s Island city? This is Eaton Rapids, just south of Lansing? It’s downtown area is surrounded on all sides by the Grand a river with many bridges connecting it with the rest of the town. There’s also a smaller island next to it that’s a park! In the mid 1800s, the park was privately owned by JD McAuliffe who turned it into a destination to relax as well as a zoo. Then in 1897, Eaton Rapids bought it to turn into a park. From 1908 to 1929, former Civil War Union troops used the park each summer for re enactments, reunions and picnics. Many relics from that era remain on the island. Save this pin and plan your visit to Eaton Rapids today!

I never realized all of this existed in the Holland Museum!! 🤯 For a great rainy day activity this spring/summer, keep a visit to the Holland Museum in mind. While I knew the museum contained a Dutch gallery, I had no clue some of the art here dates back 600 years. And that in addition to paintings, there was fine furniture, clothing, delftware and more to enjoy! Even the local history section was fascinating. On the main floor, I learned more about the once bustling Great Lakes cruise industry, which really fascinated me after finally getting into cruises over the past couple years. I also loved seeing the gigantic, intricately made klock the Dutch government made for the 1939 World Fair in Chicago and later donated to the City of Holland. Mark your calendar for every first Satur

I still can’t believe this beautiful castle is located in Michigan! 😍 This is Castle Farms in Charlevoix, MI. Originally built in 1918 as a model dairy farm by the acting President of Sears, this castles design was inspired by French castles found in Normandy. Over the years, this castle has donned many hats including being a popular concert venue in the 70s-90s (have you been to any concerts here?)! Today Castle Farms is a popular wedding venue but also is a museum offering both guided and self guided tours.
