The disused Rhondda Tunnel in South Wales was closed 50 years ago as part of the sweeping Beeching Report, which spelled the end for thousands and stations across the rail network.

Steam locomotive "Diana" to visit the Amerton Railway
The Amerton Railway, in Staffordshire, has announced that steam locomotive Kerr Stuart 'Sirdar' Class 0-4-1T "Diana" (Works Number 1158) will be operating on the line for the 2018 season.

Other than test trains, this was its first day of public appearances.
