Rebecca C. Perez | Pediatric Physical Therapist on Instagram: "When babies cry, our first instinct is to pick them up and comfort them. It's important to respond to their needs 🤗 but we can also teach our babies ways to self-soothe, like this tip, which helps calm them down but also helps develop their vestibular system. The vestibular system is a part of the inner ear that helps with balance and spatial awareness. When you gently rock your baby or allow them to experience different movements, it stimulates this system. This helps them learn how to balance and coordinate their movements better as they grow. By giving your baby these opportunities, you're not only comforting them but also supporting their overall development and helping them become more aware of their body's movement
Katy Bourzikas on Instagram: "Ready to Sleep Through the Night?? AWAKE in the crib is the foundation to sleeping through the night and longer naps! It’s a skill that takes time, practice, and consistency. 💤 If you’ve been feeding, rocking, or holding to ‘drowsy’ or asleep and transferring to the crib you may find that over time it’s something that now has to be done every time to fall asleep. These are all things our baby can’t do for themselves, so we continue to do these interventions because they tend to work well…UNTIL they DON’T. Over time, many babies will start to take more and more rocking to fall asleep or will wake and cry when you try to transfer from the breast/bottle to the crib and then you end up repeating the same thing until they’re finally in a deep enough sleep.

How to move a baby from your lap to their bed or crib.
Does your child often wake up when you move them from your lap to their bed? Try this: - Before you start, make sure they have been asleep in your lap for 15-20 minutes to reach deeper sleep. - Feet touch the bed first. - Go straight to the side, where you can pat or gently rock them. - Slowly roll them onto their back when they are calm. - Tag parents who need to see this #babysleeptips #sleepcoach #sleeptraining #babysleep #parentingtips #momlife #newmom #parenting
