Arts: In the Picture above we see a famous musician in Colombia named “Fonseca”. He was born May 29, 1979 in Bogota, Colombia. He writes a mix of Pop, Rock and R&B. Unlike most Musicians he writes and sings all of his own songs. When he was 12 years old he wrote his first song. With the help of close friends and his family members he studies music at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota. For a while he played in a band called “Baroja” but he later quit to pursue his dreams.

Daily Lives: In the picture we see a photo taken from the Andes Mountains of Bogota. The architecture there has a blend of old and modern buildings. The Andes Mountain Range is one of the biggest Tourist Attractions in Colombia. Some people go there to climb one of the many mountains other go there just to tour and look from the top of the mountains at all of Colombia.
Economy: The picture above is an essential part of Colombia’s economy which are Mines. In Colombia miners go to caves to mine Gold, Silver, Platinum, Copper, Bauxite and much more. But the most valuable thing to mine there is Emeralds. One big outport of Colombia is coffee. It is important there because the fields have good soil to grow coffee beans in. Another outport and inport in Colombia is illegal drugs which Colombia has a problem with and they are trying to fix it.
Animals: In the picture above we see the Golden Poison Frog which is one of 50 species of frogs in the Amazon Rainforest. Also in the Amazon Rainforest there are around 20 different species of toads. Near the Andes Mountain Range there are 1,871 different species of birds including the Condor which is Colombia's national bird. Around the Caribbean Coast there are over 115 different species of reptiles including turtles, lizards and more.
Religion: The picture above is a catholic church in Colombia. The spanish arrived in Colombia in 1499 and brought the Roman Catholic Religion with them.95% of the Population in Colombia is Catholic. There are many different beliefs in Colombia. Including celebrating independence day on July 20th every year. Around 1900 there were arranged marriages but now arranged marriages are very uncommon.
Language: The picture above is some words from the Spanish language which is the main language in Colombia. It was brought to the country from the Spanish settlers who came after the Native Americans. Before Colombia was called Colombia it was called The New Granata which was a place where many explorers went. Many other explorers also spoke spanish so it was helpful for it to be Colombia's main language.
History: In the video above we see a important political figure named Carlos Lleras Restrepo. This picture was taken when he was the president of Colombia from 1966-1970. After his presidency was over he was accused of rigging the Election in 1970. He was one of the most important political figures in Colombia. Today, his son is following his path to politics.
Economy: In the picture above we see a sculpture that can be found in the National Gold Museum in Bogota, Colombia. Some things they make are mini sculptures, just gold minerals and rings and jewelry. The Museum also has sculptures of gold for their history and other important things in there country. Including the legend of El Dorado which “came to life and haunted the native americans”. They carve sculptures for that to rid away the evil of El Dorado.
