Nicely and his family have moved into a "smart home" in Lake Ozark, MO. built for his physical needs that allows him independence after (during his tour of duty in Afghanistan in 2012) being injured when he stepped on an explosive device that ripped off his hands and lower legs. Amateur photographer Frank Glick was on his way to work when he drove through Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis-St. Paul early one misty morning and snapped this shot. It is not a fake. Requests for the photo have come in from Veterans Affairs, military publications, Arlington, and the Screaming Eagles of the 101st Airborne Division. Luckily, 13 months later, an American special-forces soldier found the brave dog in a remote part of the province.
