A little project that I've been playing with all this past week... I think I'm in love.

This colorful wall hanging just sings summer! What is more lovely than an old fashioned flower garden, with giant, nearly LIFE SIZED sunflowers, delphinium, and primroses? This piece is quite large ... 24" x 24" square. A narrow "sleeve" is hand stitched to the top of the backing, so that a wooden dowel can be inserted. Though I'm still working on and off on my latest rug I needed a break. I spent some time in the last few days working on some new designs and came up with a new applique project. I usually carry a small notepad in my purse to jot things down when need be but lately I discovered I was having great difficulty finding it in my purse when I needed it. I love robins ~ they are my absolute favorite bird (although I have a soft spot for wild turkeys as well :) I'm not sure what it is about them ~ they seem like such a "homey" bird ~ sweet and motherly, not flashy. Hand crafted Harris Tweed cushion cover. The hare was hand drawn and cut out of Harris Tweed and embroidered onto the cushion. This cushion cover would fit 14 by 14 inch filler (filler is not included). It has an envelope style opening at the back. Dry clean only. The official Harris Tweed Orb label is sewn onto the back.

This little pincushion measures 5" x 6". Sewing this project will bring you a variety of techniques!
