a hand holding a glass filled with liquid and the words ditch laundry scent beads for this
188 reactions · 12 shares | more info + recipe👇🏻 Artificial fragrances have been proven to wreck havoc on your hormones and respiratory system. While my life may not be perfectly nontoxic. I definitely try my best to keep synthetic fragrance out of my home, but I also want my laundry to smell good. 😅 So if you can’t pull yourself away from the scent beads, here is an easy DIY alternative - I simply mixed 5 cups of Epson salts, which also act as a laundry softener and 15-20 drops each of citrus bloom, lavender, and lemon. This combo smells absolutely amazing. I use about a quarter to half of a cup straight into my laundry drum with my detergent If you do not have doTERRA oils yet in your home, you need them. 71K views · 4.5K reactions | Leaving your laundry overnight can be HORRIBLE for your health. Here’s why. ⚠️🧺 Studies show that after just 8–12 hours, mold can start growing on your damp clothes, types like Aspergillus and Penicillium. These molds release mycotoxins, some of the most dangerous toxins produced by living organisms. The scary part? You’re not just breathing in these toxins, you’re absorbing them through your skin into your bloodstream! This can cause inflammation, weaken your immune system, and even make you chronically sick over time. 🤒 And it’s not just your clothes, your washing machine itself could be spreading mold if it’s not cleaned properly. The solution? Rewash your clothes with baking soda! Baking soda creates a basic environment where mold and fungus can’t survive, helping to eliminate these harmful pathogens from your home and protecting your family. Don’t let hidden toxins poison your health. Take action now! ✨ 🎉 CONTEST TIME! a woman holding up a bag of washing soda on top of a kitchen countertop
24K views · 963 reactions | Comment ✨🧺🧺🧺✨ for a pretty printable recipe and links to all the ingredients! (Recipe is also at the bottom) here are 5 reasons I make my own own laundry soap: 1. It’s non toxic! (And allergy friendly) Many (most) laundry soaps on the market are full of synthetic fragrance and toxins that are designed to stay in the fabric of your clothes forever 🤢 When those are always in your clothing fabric, it can easily leach those toxins into your skin (and kids skin) 2. It’s cheaper than most detergents - each load comes out to just cents when you do the math here. 3. It’s easy to make! 4. You can customize your scent. My favorite combo is lavender, peppermint and rosemary (be careful with using citrus scents on dyer balls as they have a lower combustion rate. I can’t tell you how many compliments I get on our smell. I also love how the essential oils have many benefits other than just smelling amazing. 5. It cleans very well. Each ingredient in this recipe has a specific thing that it does to help clean your clothing, such as cleaning (duh), deodorizing and is color safe. Adding vinegar to the rinse cycle even helps repel pet hair. What do you think? Is this something you do or would try? Recipe : combine all together and store in an air tight container. Add 2-3 Tbs directly to drum before clothes 2 cups baking soda 2 cups washing soda 2 cups borax 2 bars finely shredded or grated Castile soap ~50 drops essential oils (my fav combo is peppermint, lavender and rosemary- we get compliments all the time about how we smell!) Add the same oils to your dryer balls for extra scent! . #laundry #nontoxicliving #cleanliving #naturallaundry #cleanhome #nontoxichome #homemadehome #homesteading #homemaker | Kenzie Staheli | Facebook

51K views · 134 reactions | DIY LIQUID LAUNDRY SOAP: that’s .26 cents per load and super easy to make. COMMENT “RECIPE” and I’ll send you the link to my homemade recipes! Yes, I have two options that I love, that I make each month saving me time, money and ditching all the toxins. But why not just get store bought? I started making my own because I wanted clean clothes without the toxic junk (looking at you, ‘fresh mountain scent’ that smells like a chemistry experiment). Now, my laundry is actually fresh, my skin isn’t irritated, and I don’t have to overally research every ingredient. Win-win-win. If you haven’t made the switch yet, consider this your sign. Your clothes, your skin, and your nose will thank you. 🌟 Check the comments on this reel too for some of my favorite clean store bought options for all of those who need that too! 🌟 #DitchTheToxins #LowToxLiving #LaundryButMakeItClean #HomeCEOHacks #lowtoxliving #lowtoxic #nontoxiclifestyle | It’s Nicole Jaques | Facebook
