Designers Min-guk Ji & Hong-joo Kim & In-oh Yoo & for Metatrend Institute have invented what could be the greatest music accessory since the groupie. The “Transparent OLED Headphones” are made from flexible OLED panels that allow the user to custom design a lighting show or patterns across your cranium.
Examples of Anouk Wipprecht’s “wearable tech” include Fragilis, a dress that eerily mimics the function of the human heart and veins through motion and lighting (similar to the Heartbeat Dress, which conversely uses sound, recording the heartbeat of the model and relaying it to the audience through speakers embedded in the dress):
High tech met haute couture when Nicole Scherzinger wore a one-of-a-kind Twitter gown to The Everything Everywhere Network launch on November 1st. British smart textile company CuteCircuit made the gown with 2,000 Swarovski crystals and 6,000 LED lights embedded in French chiffon. 140 character tweets could be sent to the dress and displayed on the front. We may see more high tech garments like this in the future. - Lauren W.
