The Aral Sea was a lake lying between Kazakhstan (Aktobe and Kyzylorda provinces) in the north and Karakalpakstan. Kaindy Lake, (Kaindy means “lots of spruce”) is a 400 metre long lake located in the Tian Shan mountains of Kazakhstan.The lake is famous for its submerged spruce trees that rise out of the lake bed.
