Before & After: An Outdated Hutch Goes Cottage Chic
We don’t like to constantly brag about how great the Apartment Therapy Classifieds are, so we’ll let Goli do it for us. This hutch came from the classifieds, a little worse for wear but clearly, it wasn’t anything Goli couldn’t handle (and handle fabulously). What a difference! We’re loving how those new gold pulls really stand out against the dove grey Goli chose. And the lighter color really makes the architectural details pop.

The Making of an Antique Cupboard
Before I say anything else about today's post, I want to thank to my husband. Without him, I wouldn't be sharing what I'm sharing with you today. He helps me bring my plans and visions to reality and I truly couldn't do it without him. I don't say it often enough, but I appreciate not only all the work he does for me, but his willingness to even tackle the projects I throw at him at all. I really believe there

There’s something about nature in bloom in April that gets everyone thinking and talking about color. I confess, with spring in the air and summer on the horizon, I’m looking around my house for ways to inject pops of color here and there as well. So as you know from yesterday’s musi ...

1930’s “Linen” China Cabinet - Salvaged Inspirations
I know I've probably said this a thousand times before {and thanks to all of you who still listen!}, but I really like working on these vintage china cabinets. They have so much character and charm like so many mature pieces of furniture do. This 1930's girl has been painted in General Finishes "Linen" - a beautiful and classic antique...
Farmhouse Friday ~ What Farmhouse Style Means to Me
I am so excited to be joining some wonderfully talented bloggers for a new blog hop called FARMHOUSE FRIDAYS! This month's theme is "What Does Farmhouse Style Mean To Me". To me farmhouse style is simple, rustic, calming, and cozy. I love old things and am drawn to the look of the past, specifically rural America in the middle to late 1800's. I try to accomplish this look in our farmhouse by using primitive items and furnishings, warm wood tones, along with simple fabrics and patterns, all…
What I Love About Farmhouse Style...
There are many reasons I adore farmhouse style (you too?!). Here are a few reasons why... It's fun to repurpose aged items in unexpected ways. Here, we used an old galvanized chicken waterer as a vase. For easy ways to dry your hydrangeas, click here. Bringing in humble pieces to play up the farmhouse feel, like this old work ladder, is completely acceptable! The ladder provides another layer to the room and helps a flat wall become more interesting. Hanging a burlap or feed sack over the…
