Did you know that some ethnobotanists believe the legend of Santa Claus originated around the Aminita mushroom? In Siberia these mushrooms grow under evergreen trees (xmas trees), and were historically fed to reindeer, since by drinking the urine of a "flying" reindeer, folks could get the psychedelic effects if the mushroom without many of the unpleasant side effects. Even Santa's red and white coat are said to come from the red and white mushrooms. Fascinating!
