While the top could reach anywhere from below the breast up to the neck, the bottom hem touched the calves or even the ankles. This photo shows some ways the kalasiris could be used to wrap around the human figure to achieve different styles. Kalasiris were short sleeved or sleeveless. Women often wore a belt, which held together folds of cloth.
